The sky out my window the other night. I'm not one of these people who can write really witty articles to amuse the masses, but when I see beauty I admire it. This to me seems like a painting, and worthy of sharing. Enjoy!

Lately I've been obsessed with recurring numbers. When I see the same number over and over during my day: in my change, on a license plate or when I look at a digital clock, I keep thinking it's a message. For instance when I started writing this post the time on my mac was 13:13. So what do these numbers mean? Hello Google! Well there are 13 moon cycles in a year, and moon associations connote: feminine, psyche, emotions. The thirteenth tarot card is death and means transition, the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. In numerology 13 means: initiation, birth, creation and completion. In Angel numbers, 13 means a message from your angels that great upheavals are happening in your life for karmic reasons, and they will bring about necessary change and new opportunities for you. They all seem to say pretty much the same thing. Change is good!

Heroes......

I was watching "Heroes" season 4 the other night, and there's a female character who has sound/colour synaesthesia. She is deaf and I think its cool the way it shows the colours seeping out of the instruments, the piano, the cello, even when a cup hits the floor and smashes, a blue light emanates out from it. I don't see the colours that way but I think everyone experiences it differently. I've never seen synaesthesia in a movie or a TV show before, but a lot of people are studying it now. If I think about it another way, "Heroes" is portraying synaesthesia as a super power, and I have it, so that means I have a power! ( smug smile )

The colour of the number three....

I distinctly remember an argument between my younger brother and myself about the colour of the number three. I was five years old and he was about three and a half. I think he was insisting that its dark red and I was saying that its light blue. My Mum intervened and said it was yellow or something. Anyone outside our family would have thought we were a bunch of nutters! Synaesthesia is hereditary but apparently just passes along the female line. My numbers are: 0 clear like water 1 white 2 yellow 3 light blue 4 orange 5 red 6 dark blue 7  bottle green 8 black 9 fir green Sesame street really used to annoy me when I was little because the numbers were the wrong colours when they came up on the screen. My door number back home in Dublin is green and yellow. Its not coloured that way, thats just the colours I have on the numbers. And my door number here in High wycombe is dark green. I live in flat 2 so that is yellow. I like my flat being yellow. Its a nice bright colour.

Rainbows...

Isaac Newton tried to match sound waves to light waves. He came up with seven colours for the seven notes in a scale. His colours were: C  Red D  Orange E  yellow F  Green G  Blue A  Indigo B  pink (These colours are wrong to me!!) Its because of Newton that people have thought that there are seven colours in a rainbow. But if you look closely you'll probably only notice six. I can only ever see six. Thats the view out my bedroom window the other day. I'm listening to "So What" by Miles Davis. Its blue with bits of red and fizzy yellow sparkles. Theres a bar of black behind the other colours.

Books!!

Just got "Synaesthesia: Classic and Contemporary Readings" Edited by Simon Baron-Cohen and John E. Harrison. Had to order it from America because Amazon didn't have it. Can't wait to read it!

My Colours

These are my colours on chords: A     yellow Am  creamy white B     fudge brown Bm  chocolate brown C     pink Cm  dull darker pink D     bright dark blue Dm  dull dark blue E     bright bottle green Em  fir green F     lightish purple Fm  darker purple G     clear like water. It takes its colour from the preceding chords. Gm  same as G only with less light I'll post the 7ths, suss4s and add9s tomorrow Was just listening to "Yellow" by Coldplay. Its funny 'cause that song has always been blue for me. "Jolene" by Dolly Parton is a yellow song.
